Our Nation’s management team spent 3 hours and 15 minutes in a Cabinet meeting that was live-streamed on media outlets, so everyone could see how dedicated they are. It’s a pity that this important gathering didn’t result in any significant outcomes, but it definitely showed their effort and engagement.
This is a highly controversial issue everywhere. The image depicts a spoof of an airline departure board at a London airport, featuring a former government minister.
England faces a significant problem: illegal travelers can easily land by crossing the Channel from France in small boats. The UK government is desperately searching for solutions to repatriate these travelers, but so far, none have been successful. That sounds like our own issues in The United States.
Many people don’t remember Kmart—it’s been a while since they were around. For those who do remember, they probably think fondly of the famous “Blue Light Special,” when a big light would spin around the store all excitedly.
Another great deal was the in-store cafeteria. It’s such a fun choice when you can pick between the all-you-can-eat fried fish or liver and onions for lunch. Maybe I’ll save a bit of money and go for the $0.99 special instead.
When I came across this online, I was curious to see how I did on the quiz. Without peeking or cheating, I managed to earn a score of 17 points. I especially enjoy orange soda, Creamsicles, and wax candy bottles (this was not a popular choice with everyone).
TANG and fruit cocktail were quite good, but I really don’t like fish sticks. Back then, Swanson’s TV dinners were okay, although everything on the tray kind of tasted the same. I’m curious—how did you do in the “points” challenge?
How have we reached a point where thousands of United States National Guards are armed and patrolling Washington, DC? To my knowledge, never before in our country’s history have so many Guard members been deployed with high-powered weapons. There is no valid reason for this. Their presence in our nation’s capital is disgraceful. Is this the image we want to present to the world?
A major newspaper article discussed plans to relax job requirements at the FBI and ICE. The FBI has long been regarded as one of the most reputable organizations globally, partly due to its strict recruitment standards. Likewise, ICE (Border Patrol) maintained very high standards of foreign language proficiency. While reducing these standards may increase applicant numbers, it raises the question: Will lower standards result in better-qualified personnel? What are these new hires defending us from? Why are masked officers that are equipped with military grade weapons roaming around looking for illegal entrants? There has to be a better way to handle this.
Since our government increased deportations, 332,000 people have been arrested. It has been reported “that overall arrests tripled and people have been detained with no past conviction or charges have increased by 20 times”. There are a total of 60,000 people now in custody. The 2025 budget includes $45 billion for expanding detention, and an additional $14 billion is “set aside for transporting people out of the country.” While I do not condone illegal entry into the US, a budget like this (which is the tip of the budget) is simply wrong.
This is a still shot of Sean Connery and Alec Baldwin on the set of The Hunt for Red October. It’s truly one of the great movies of all time, and I’ve always been curious about how they filmed (or faked) the inside of a submarine. Over the years, I’ve probably watched this movie around 10 times, and each time, I enjoy it just as much. This image really made me smile.
Seeing this wonderful image brings back fond memories of those times with projectors and video days. I can almost hear the whir of the machines and remember the effort it took to get everything just right.
There was always some eager-beaver to help out, usually a student assistant, making the process a bit more frantic. And of course, there were the occasional groans when the video reel would break. Back then, most of our videos were public service announcements—such as those against smoking or drinking alcohol. Surprisingly, these topics remain relevant today; some lessons endure over the years.
Losing money is really tough; especially when it’s due to overlooking details, it can feel even worse. Two years ago, I had the chance to design and launch a new website for a friend. Everything went smoothly, and once the site was live, I sent him the bill for my work, which he paid promptly. I also took care of arranging the hosting for the website, providing him with the billing information and details. He reassured me that he’d handle any extra costs, including the hosting fees. However, for several months, I noticed a small monthly charge of about $10 from the hosting company.
At first, I thought this was just related to my own websites, so I didn’t do anything. But yesterday, I discovered that I had been charged for two years of web hosting on my credit card. I quickly canceled the service and removed my credit card info from their billing system. Even while I was talking to the host’s representative, I couldn’t help but think how silly I was for letting this happen. My mistake. It reminds me of an old saying: “The devil is in the details.” I promise I’ll remember that going forward.
