For nearly 50 years, these sycamore trees stood near my house. There were 5 trees in all; as fall approached, they dumped zillions of leaves into my rain gutters and totally covered my driveway. It was a gigantic mess to clean up each year, and I didn’t look forward to the task.
This year, a new owner bought the house next door. Not long after they moved in, a crew appeared, and like magic, the trees were cut down and removed.
It’s empty space where they once stood, and I surely do miss them.
