One of my favorite hotels, the Rye Town Hilton in Westchester County, NY, just closed their doors forever. After being the best go-to hotel in the county for more than 47 years, it’s gone, with no hope of reopening.
On a personal and professional basis, I always enjoyed visiting the hotel; my eldest daughter began her hotel career there. There seemed always to be something going on there we’d attend. For every kind of event or conference, they’d deliver an extraordinary guest experience.
Located near many Fortune 10 corporations, near a bustling regional airport, and within an easy commute to New York City, it was the place to go. This hotel was like home for guests attending a wide range of activities; board rooms meetings, weddings, receptions of every type, and social gatherings.
With the drop in corporate travel and fewer events and conferences, the hotel couldn’t keep going. We’ll all miss the hotel, their services, and their excellent, professional staff.
Sadly, I know this won’t be the last hotel turn out their lights before this pandemic passes us by.
