Update: The post-2020 Election activity is really scary for everyone.

I wrote this original post on September 15th, well before the recent national election. Today, it’s November 16th (nearly 2 weeks after the election) with the results clearly communicated to everyone.

I was hopeful that the post-election would be orderly and without too much drama on both sides. That’s not the case and, we are in the midst of a political and social battle for the ages. In the end, the administrations will change and, government will continue to operate. For now, however, it’s painful and crazy to watch what’s happening.

Apart from the ongoing pandemic issues that seem endless, there is the possibility that post-election, national disruption might take place. Regardless of which candidate for president wins, there’s a chance either person (and many voters) will be dissatisfied.

I am scared to death that the post-election reactions will overshadow common sense; legal challenges will completely overpower the well-established electoral process. At the same time, the ever-present threat of disruption and violence is in the background.

This 2020 election is different from any other before now. Today, voters deal with a barrage of information, some true, some, no-so accurate. In itself, it is a traditional political landscape, and we navigate it as best we’re able to. However, with the pandemic and real-time pain and suffering for millions of citizens, it’s a very complicated reality for everyone. Who knows what to believe and from whom?

It’s a wonder to me how anyone will be able to deal with it. I know I’m struggling. Perhaps none of this will occur; the best may be yet to come.

I certainly hope so.
