What’s up with Costco’s street food?

Costco is really amping up their nearly-ready-to-eat stuff, and some of it is pretty interesting. Today I saw this street-Taco kit, ready to go in minutes. A shopper next to me was raving about them; while they might be tasty, apparently, her children have never had a real taco. I prefer to make my own, so I passed on this.

However, in the case right behind this one, they were offering pre-seasoned Bulgogi beef, a Korean staple food. Since I already have my trusty wok, chopsticks, seasonings, and rice, I bought the package.

When I looked at the other display cases, there were many, many more nearly-ready to serve items; mac and cheese, lasagna, pot pies, and more. It’s pretty clear to me Costco has their finger on the pandemic-cooking pulse and is making things easier for me.

Now, if they’d only go back to the free sampling, I’d really be a happy shopper.
